{"id":2264,"date":"2024-10-19T16:31:28","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T14:31:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pictures.uber.space\/?post_type=product&#038;p=2264"},"modified":"2025-03-18T14:34:34","modified_gmt":"2025-03-18T13:34:34","slug":"gefaehrlicher-gegenstand-eisenbahnstrasse-1","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pictures.uber.space\/en\/shop\/gefaehrlicher-gegenstand-eisenbahnstrasse-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Dangerous subject: Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe #1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our newspaper \u201cDangerous Object: Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe\u201d is a documentary and side-taking investigation of the situation in the area around Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe in the east of Leipzig, where a weapons ban zone was introduced in 2018.<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding: 62.5% 0 0 0; position: relative;\"><iframe style=\"position: absolute; top: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/390531166?autoplay=1&amp;loop=1&amp;color=f2af4b&amp;title=0&amp;byline=0&amp;portrait=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/api\/player.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Since November 2018, the situation in the area around Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe in the east of Leipzig has \u201cfinally been defused\u201d \u2013 according to the BILD newspaper. This is where the first weapons ban zone in Saxony was established. Even before this, the police were allowed to carry out random controls in this \u201cdangerous place\u201d. Prohibition signs have now been erected around the area and there is a fine of up to 10.000\u20ac for carrying weapons, as well as up to 1.000\u20ac for carrying \u201cdangerous objects\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But the Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe is also a dangerous object for any journalistic, documentary, artistic investigation. It seems impossible to take and show pictures with an unbiased view. The images are too much cemented in our minds, since Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe has been in the headlines for years as a result of brawls, shootings, drug trafficking, knife attacks. Often, these acts are diffusely attributed to non-German or People of Colour.<\/p>\n<p>In August 2019, we published the photo magazine \u201cGef\u00e4hrlicher Gegenstand: Eisenbahnstra\u00dfe\u201d, in which we counter the stigma of \u201cGermany's worst street\u201d (ProSieben) with a differentiated, critical image. To do this, we held long conversations with residents, used video stills from relevant TV documentaries and our own bodycam footage and photographed special places in the neighborhood with a large-format camera.
